About Elaine

Elaine Morris is the principal consultant and founder of Sea Change Inc., an organizational effectiveness firm based in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. An executive coach for the past 20 years, Elaine works with leaders to create productive and rewarding work environments. In retreat settings, Elaine facilitates focused conversations for corporate teams to create strategies, build greater teamwork and effectively execute plans.

In recent projects, Elaine’s work yielded:

  • Successful execution of a four-year strategy that doubled the size of a company
  • An executive team tripled the size of their company
  • A top level team grew dramatically in teamwork behaviors in the course of one year, as evidenced by the before and after scores of an objective team assessment
  • An executive who was failing and on probation, became fully functioning and well-accepted by peers in a period of six months

Elaine has worked with emerging start-ups to Fortune 500 companies in a wide variety of industries including: commercial real estate, construction, technology, engineering, retail, oil and gas, health care, financial services, hospitality, direct sales, government, legal services, private education (from pre-school to university level), non-profits and religious organizations, and a variety of service organizations.

Sea Change clients include: BTI/WorldTravel Company, Country Wide Mortgage, Haag Engineering, Hilton Hotels, JPI, New York Life, Samuel Noble Foundation, Prospera Financial, Radio Shack, Share Plus Federal Credit Union, Trinity Christian Academy (TCA), Texas Christian University (TCU), United States Bankruptcy Court, Tulsa Health Department, UT Southwestern Medical, and the City of Lewisville.

Elaine is certified in two emotional intelligence instruments, the 360 ECI (Emotional Competency Inventory) distributed by the Hay/McBer group, an affiliate of Daniel Goleman's Emotional Intelligence Services. Goleman brought "Emotional Intelligence" into our vocabulary through his ground-breaking book, Emotional Intelligence in 1995 and more recently through the best-seller, Primal Leadership. Elaine is also certified in the Bar-On EQI assessment tools developed by Dr. Reuven Bar-on.

Elaine’s coaching credentials includes in-depth training with Landmark Education and New Venture’s West, a well-known coaching accreditation organization. Elaine uses the approach of the Integral Coaching Model, a breakthrough approach to executive development that is rigorous, compassionate and pragmatic. She engages clients in new ways of thinking and behaving through conversations and exercises related to their everyday work. This approach is based on the premise that action and practice is central to real learning and change. Clients integrate business and personal goals and progress is measured to assure positive impact on leader and organizational results.

Elaine's formal education includes a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature and Secondary Education from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1973. She completed the Executive MBA Program at Nova University in Orlando, Florida in 1978.

Elaine served on the Dallas ASTD Board (American Society of Training and Development) 2001-2003 and now serves as an advisor to the Communications Team and writes a column for their monthly newsletter.
